157 question for NCAA guru's

This may be a little long winded... So I have a very basic understanding of how they allocate spots for the NCAA tournament with the conferences. My understanding is it is by ranking, coaches polls and winning percentage over a certain number of matches. Please clarify for me if I am incorrect on that.

So I am basically putting whoever our 157 pounder is at a baseline of Blees who has the most to go off of and IMO he could squeeze in there off that criteria if he has a good season. We know that Laprade is close to blees off of the match we saw between the two and we can probably assume Lewis is as well since there's talk of him possibly starting as a true fresh.

Now my question is would it be wiser to go with whoever wins the job at the beginning of the season with having to reach a certain amount of matches to better our chances with earning that extra NCAA spot for the ACC regardless of how things play out in the room the rest of the season?
